Currently Coding
I am NOT a coder, programmer or anything even resembling one. Im interested in computers, certainly but only a certain type. The type you can actually see and interact with without layer upon layer of abstraction between you and the silicon.
Old PDP's, Imsai's, Atari's (anything with a 6502 or Z80 processor) ancient IBM's... you get the picture. New computers, like this amazing Chromebook plus I'm coding this website on (hand coded in HTML and CSS dont you know!) these are great, incredible and so simple to use. They have a place but they are just not interesting as you cant easily get down to the metal.
I started trying to learn Python. It was ok, and I made a few fun things but the language left me cold as it was again just a black box that you asked it to do stuff and it did stuff, no questions asked. Wheres the fun in that? (please dont flame me Python Coders)
I am now learning C, BASIC and 6502 Assembly on my Atari. I have an interest in most 'old' languages, COBOL, Fortran, Lisp etc, but they are beyond me right now
So I will add a list of things Im currently working on, partially for fun, mostly for me to try and absorb and learn a bit more.
Update: Actually made a start!
Added a bit of background and some links that currently go nowhere. More to come!
